AstaReal® Biomass is made from whole Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae, cultivated in the USA. The algae are nurtured in our proprietary fully enclosed indoor cultivation facility in Moses Lake, WA. Indoor cultivation allows optimal algal productivity and harvest timing for best astaxanthin content and stability.

Is AstaReal® Biomass vegetarian friendly?
Yes. AstaReal® Biomass is made of green freshwater microalgae, Haematococcus pluvialis, which is a plant-based source.
Why are the algae used to make AstaReal® Astaxanthin grown indoors?
Conventional outdoor cultivation methods expose algae to variable weather and a higher risk of biological and chemical contamination. This can affect algal growth, astaxanthin production, and the final quality and stability of natural astaxanthin.
